Life in Busan

As some of you may know, I have moved to the Busan area.  The job in Jeonju didn’t work out for reasons I don’t care to go into here.  Anyhow, those who would like to know more can e-mail me and I will discuss them privately.  However, needless to say, the owner of that particular school fits in the ninth circle of hagwon hell.

I now live in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do.  Yangsan is much like Namyangju, in that it is close to a big city, in this case Busan.  While it is hotter here, it also seems to be less humid.  Maybe it is due to the cool ocean breezes.  Anyhow, I have been slowly finding out where things are.  Like Seoul, Busan has an excellent subway system.  However, there are some differences.

One of the main differences has to do with the language.  They have a different accent down here than they do in Seoul.  Also, they speak much quicker than Seoul people do.

I really do like the school.  I have to say that this school is really nice.  The building is brand new and each classroom has its own air conditioner.  This is definitely a plus, as we aren’t having air conditioning wars with the boss or have classrooms that don’t get enough cool air.

There is a huge Lotte Mart across the street and a branch of the Busan Bank across from us in the other direction.  I really want to know who consulted with Busan Bank on their logo.
