Kim Jong-eun attends a parade

This year marks a decidedly inaspicious anniversary, namely the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Workers’ Party.  The KWP is the party currently governing North Korea, as they have done since the country’s founding.

Anyhow, North Korea is starting to release more and more photos of Kim Jong-il’s son, Kim Jong-eun.  Kim Jong-eun is the heir apparent to Kim Jong-il.  Like his father, he is decidedly unattractive, as you can see by clicking here

The NYT has another story on the death of Hwang Jang-yop which you can see here.  His late wife committed suicide following his defection, as did a daughter.  His remaining family members are presumed to be in North Korean labour camps.
