Myeongdong Theatre

Recently, this small gem of a theatre was reopened.  I haven’t been to a performance here yet, but I would like to.  Lately, I’ve seen that they’ve been running performances of Shakespeare translated into Korean.  Translating 16th century English into Korean is probably not a task for the fainthearted.  Still, I wonder what the Merchant of Venice is like in Korean.

Speaking of plays, the Charlotte Theatre at Lotte World is currently running The Phantom of the Opera in Korean.  Before that, they were doing Cats.  T.S. Eliot in Korean, anyone?
