The case involving the eight year-old boy who murdered his father is, of course, still wending its way through the Arizona Court system, guilty plea notwithstanding. Judge Roca had announced at a recent hearing that he would probably reject the plea deal, one which spares the young boy the spectre of imprisonment. He would, nevertheless, he monitored and under the control of probation.
The defense filed a motion with The Honourable Donna Grimsley, Presiding Judge of Apache County. The learned judge, who has recused herself in the case anyways, passed it over to Judge Tom Wing of the Navajo County Superior Case for a ruling on the change of judge motion, a motion which the prosecution, incidentally, supports.
Judge Wing has made his decision and the change of judge motion has been granted. You can read more about this here.
