Seoul Central Mosque

Korea is home to a small number of Muslims.  For the most part, these are migrant workers from elsewhere in Asia.  However, there are about 30-40,000 Korean Muslims.  As I understand it, some Koreans working for Hyundai in the Middle East converted to Islam there.  The imam of the Seoul Central Mosque is Korean.  You can read a bit more about some disputes within the community here.

I was in the neighbourhood getting my hair cut.  I finally found a barber in Seoul who speaks very good English, doesn’t charge much, and most importantly cuts my hair quickly and well.  Another barber shop in the area had very nice barbers, but they didn’t speak any English and would merely trim my hair rather than cutting it.  My new barber’s shop is in Itaewon near the Catholic Church there.  It is also right near the Seoul Central Mosque.
