Maoist in the White House

Often, the people who get into power are quite unsavoury characters.  The Ludwig von Mises Institute recently profiled one of them, namely Obama’s White House Communications Director Anita Dunn.

Last year, Anita Dunn gave a speech to high school students wherein she praised China’s former leader, Chairman Mao Zedong.  She held him up as “one of her favorite political philosophers”.  Yes, the same man who murdered some 70 million of his own people.

As former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott found out, you’ve got to be very careful what you say.  If he can be railroaded out for praising the late Senator Thurmond, then Anita Dunn should be railroaded out of town for praising a man who was perhaps the greatest mass murderer of the twentieth century.  After all, it’s only fair.

  1. Ignorance in history will lead to the repetition of the errors in the past. A kind of Maoist “Cultural Revolution”(문화혁명, 文化革命) may be plotted in the US. The “Cultural Revolution” had killed and suppressed so many innocent Chinese who were considered in odds with Maoist ideology.

  2. And Mao’s own militia called “hong wei bing” (紅衛兵, 홍위병) had led the brutal cultural revolution (1966~76). The Obama’s idea of “Civilian National Security Force” might have its roots on Mao’s model.
