Just sad

North Korea has been in the news again.  Generally, when they’re in the news, it’s not for anything good.  This past week, six people were killed in flash floods deliberately caused by North Korea.  Some families were camping out near the Imjin river, a large river north of Seoul which also flows through North Korea.  In violation of agreements made between Seoul and Pyeongyang, the North opened up their dams unleashing a flood.  Among those killed was an eight year old boy.  This is not the first time that North Korea has done this.  They have used rivers as weapons before.

Seo Woo-taek, a twelve year old boy, was camping with his father in the area.  His father was able to save his son before being washed away in the flood.  His body and the bodies of all six victims have been found.

Saddest of all, perhaps, is the case of Lee Yong-taek.  He was just nine years old.
