Jon Huer on kimchi

Jon Huer, a professor at the University of Maryland University College, often writes for the Korea Times.  Sometimes, his columns are good.  But sometimes, they are maddening in the extreme.  Anyhow, I like this piece about kimchi and thought that I’d share it with you.  You can access it here.

One point of disagreement, though.  I’ve never really found Korean food to be overly spicy.  It is spicy, but not overly so.  Maybe it comes from my background of having grown up in the Southwestern United States with great exposure to Mexican cuisine.

  1. So, are you addicted to kimchi? Will you have withdrawl symptoms when you come home? Maybe you should bring some with you–and more to share!
