Cheonggyecheon Stream

Back when he was mayor of Seoul, President Lee Myeong-bak engaged on a huge project to bring back to Seoul a stream which used to run through the downtown area of the city.  For a long time, it had been paved over and had an elevated expressway put over it.  Unfortunately, this doesn’t capture the Cheonggyecheon Stream in its summertime beauty, but I think you’ll get the idea.

  1. Nice little stream. 🙂 I appreciate it when people take time to do things like that.
I enjoyed the music a few posts back. Yeah, not great, but still enjoyable. 🙂
    Love ya!

  2. Seoul was a pretty ugly city for a while. So, yes, these things are welcome.

  3. WELL, it can’t beat the lovely gila river that adorns our beautiful valley. actually, i think the canals generally have more water…. ha ha that’s really cool they uncovered it.

a certain someone is insisting on playing ‘woozies’ (ring around the rosies). do they play that in korea?

  4. Well Kimberly, they don’t really play “woozies” here. Strangely enough, rock, paper, scissors is played. But of course, it is in Korean.

  5. i think you should teach them how to play woozies. you would probably be teacher of the year (if you aren’t already)!
