Musicals

One of the things that I haven’t seen here, but probably should is a Korean musical.  They are pretty popular and our students are going to go visit a theatre tomorrow.  I don’t think that I’ll come along on this trip, though.  I’m not needed, so the two Korean speaking teachers and the boss’ wife can manage, I think.  Some of my former students did see Cats when it was playing in Gwangju.

Currently, the musical Chicago is playing in Seoul.  I am sort of curious as to how they translated “All That Jazz” and some of the other numbers.  Yesterday, I saw an add for My Fair Lady.  Being exceedingly familiar with that musical, I think I can go see it.  I especially want to see how they translate Henry Higgins’ memorial lines into Korean: “Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn”.
